A Letter To Summer

Yesterday I printed off several of these cute summer letter templates from Thirty Handmade Days.

It was a HOT one and we spent the morning at the pool for an early play date. When we got home and after we’d had some lunch, the kids sat down for a little quiet time and completed these sweet notes to pop in the mail before we head out to the {right coast}!

When they were all done and each box contained darling little drawings and cute elementary handwriting, I thought about sitting down and completing one myself! Instead, I decided to do mine in blog form and write my letter to SUMMER!

Dear Summer,

Here’s a little of what we’ve been up to since you arrived…

{GoPro-ing at the pool}

Finishing 6 week long projects that should NOT take 6 weeks…

{full reveal to come ~ stay tuned}

Catching the latest at the box office…

letter5

{we did not see 2 movies in one day…Holden just really loves this shirt! 😉 }

letter6

{Despicable Me 2 on opening day}

What I love best about you so far, Summer, is…

letter7

{quiet afternoons with a good book}

letter9

{concerts in the park}

My favorite memories with you to this point are…

letter8

{going on an adventure with this little pirate}

and

letter10

{getting a sitter and hanging out with this guy}

We’re almost halfway through with you, Summer….why must you go so fast?

The next two weeks will be spent creating new adventures and making new memories in a whole different spot on the map.

You’ve been good to us so far, but I know there’s lots more in store. You’re really good at inviting us to enjoy your warm, sunny days and your starry, chirping cricket-filled nights!

Thank you for always delivering…

Love your forever friend,

Amy xoxo

Dear Monday

Dear Monday,

I {heart} you because…

you are the prelude to a new week filled with endless possibilities!

Found this darling FREE printable on Pinterest {of course!} and fell in love.

Grab an old 8X10 frame and print out this bad boy ~ looks fine on regular old printer paper, but I used photo paper.

I think it’ll be cute to place one in each of the kids’ rooms and one downstairs to remind the ones I love WHY I {heart} them.

{and a good way to reward good behavior for the little ones!}

Something fun leading up to Valentine’s Day…

…and everyday for that matter.

Here’s to a great week!

The Candy Has Left The Building

Hi All!

Happy Wednesday.

I am pleased to announce that a giant bag filled with sweet treats in colorful wrappers has left the building ~ I made Jay escort it out this morning at 6:40am as he left for the bus stop. I don’t want to see another piece of chocolate, caramel or nougat for awhile.

Sorry Pinterest, you’re on a time out until I start preparing holiday goodies in about a month.

I am in the process of revamping a few areas around the house…we’ve been here three years and it’s time for a little change. My collage wall will be home to this 8X10 beauty which I am sending to Walgreens as we speak:

You can have one too, just go here. Thanks, Julie!

As I’ve mentioned a million times before, the walls in our home are white, whITE, WHITE ~ this ray of sunshine and rainbow goodness will be hugged by a red frame and stand out nicely.

I think those words are so true and I don’t know about you, but I need to be reminded of that daily.

We’re on the downhill slide to another weekend!

Make your evening {and your Thursday} the best.

Rules For The Teacher

I fell in love with this year-end teacher gift…

{You can download the FREE printable here}

I am NO way near as crafty as Crystal over at Little Bit Funky, but I DO know how to send this adorable download to Walgreens and put it into a frame for my kiddos’ teachers!

{my Walgreens is having a [2 8X10’s for $2 special] during the month of June….maybe yours is too ~ yes, I missed it by a day and a half!}

Going to get these cuties in some colorful frames and see what other rainbow goodness I can find to present to our sweet teachers at the end of NEXT WEEK! Where, oh where did this school year go?
