Classy Lady

My maternal grandmother, Gam, would’ve been 102 today.

{This pic was taken the day she first became a “Gam”…October 8, 1970}

Gam didn’t care for the ketchup bottle on the table ~ she preferred you put some in a small bowl with a dainty little spoon for serving.

Gam always made sure the table was set properly.

{napkin and fork on the left, knife with cutting-edge in towards the plate and then the spoon to the right}.

Gam always wore LOTS of jewelry.

Gam drove a 1965 VW bug in robin’s egg blue…appropriately named, Robin.

Gam wore “Paris” by Yves Saint Laurent.

Gam always took us to the zoo and would buy us hot chocolate and her a Sanka.

Gam loved having Happy Hour…at home…everyday.

Gam loved her Hershey’s Kisses.

Gam loved her chablis.

Gam hosted many sunset pizza parties on Windansea Beach.

Remembering all the things Gam loved today.

Missing sharing them with her.

Happy Birthday, Dear Gam!

  1. Been thinking of Gam a lot today, dear Amy! But….you captured all my thoughts right here! What a happy, happy day this was when the above picture was taken–you arrived! And then, when Becky was born Gam came to the rescue and we brought you to where she was housesitting (did you mention that Gam loved to housesit?) so we could get to the hospital–just in time!

    We were all so excited to have Becky come into the world! Gam was a part of everything and loved everything….except ketchup in a bottle!
