In the last couple of months of the year I plan to stress less over the holidays, be more patient with my children, open my home for a family Thanksgiving, spend less on presents and more on “thoughts that count,” and stay on “Plan” even when scrumptious foods call to me for one more little bite.

As this year winds down, I might add it’s been the fastest year of MY LIFE… I look forward to FAMILY….The Holidays not only brings lots of goodies, football, beautiful decorations and Munchkins smiles…. It brings MEMORY MAKING TIME… Good recipes that are Family traditions, beautiful ornaments that my Son made for our tree when he was 6, (he’s now over 40), cookies and candies that I made for the Holidays for YEARS, the stocking that my Auntie knitted for me when I was 2 years old, and they go on and on and on…..New memories will be made this Holiday Time that will last for many happy years to come.
And I look forward to making quilted gifts for my loved ones that will long outlast me…Scary but true !!!
So make MEMORIES everyone…. they are one of Life’s Precious Gifts…… Love & Enjoy your Family…….Happy Holidays xoxoxo

Amy, I love what you have done here! I always look forward to your wise tips, creative ideas and scrumptous recipes! Anyhoo, I am looking forward to spending quality time with my family over the last few months of this year. We are heading out to the desert for Halloween weekend which is always a great time. A totally inexpensive way to spend quality time with the kids and soak in what they love to do most which is ride the dunes. My Father is coming into town over Thanksgiving and some of my family has not seen him in 10 years! So excited for this!! And then we are in December, my favorite month! My Mom is coming for a visit for Christmas and she hasn’t been home for 3 years. Looking so forward to an exciting but busy next few months. Happy Holidays!!

    Hey there-
The last few months of the year are always my favorite- especially now that I have little ones
to share it with. Each year is better than the last because they are beginning to understand and appreciate the holidays. I am a big holiday person. I love entertaining, cooking, baking, decorating, shopping, going to events, etc. We’re going to be baking lots of cookies together.
And hopefully jumping on the train to go pick out our Christmas tree with Santa. : )

I’m most looking forward to having my partner in crime at work back from maternity leave 🙂 I’ve been lonely with out her. With living so close to work now, I am SO looking forward to being able to attend the darling holiday performances at school – Fall Festival performance is this week. I am excited to experience all that our new community has to offer during the holidays, candelight park tours, snow day, etc. Seeing the excitement of the kids on Xmas morning. And finally, and hopefully some of the other moms reading this can understand – knowing that the Elf on the Shelf can come out to keep some order in the house 🙂 It doesn’t seem to have the same effect before November.

~looking forward to the upcoming holidays. This is by far my favorite time of year. I host Thanksgiving every year and I love having my family around my table while we all give thanks for all of our blessings. I love everything about Christmas, the decorations, shopping and trying to find that special gift for everyone on my list, but most of all spending quality time with family and friends.

I just love this time of year. I love that fall is in the air. I love the change of seasons. I love that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I love that my Dad will be visiting over Thanksgiving and that we have much to be thankful for this year. I also love that it is at this time we will begin decorating for Christmas, which is just about my favorite time of year! I love the holidays!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Thanksgiving. We celebrated at my Grandma’s house every year until she passed away in 2006. It has never been the same, mostly because I’ve been subjected to Thanksgiving with the in-laws. They’re great people, but don’t understand good Thanksgiving dinner. The past two years, they’ve had instant mashed potatoes and gravy from a mix. Yuck. I can go on, but I’ll leave it at that. I asked my three year old son what he’s looking forward to most about Christmas and he said, “The snow and wear snow boots in the snow and Santa.”

I’m looking most forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are three new babies in our family this year (we had our third in June and my younger sisters had their firsts in April and October) so we have PLENTY to be thankful for this holiday season!

As the year winds down, I am looking forward to cooler weather, crock pot dinners, fires in the fireplace, wearing cozy sweaters and most of all spending time with family we don’t get to see as often as we’d like. I love reading the blog Amy! Keep the entries coming. 🙂

Early Happy Blogoversary to you Amy!!

For the remainder of 2011, I am planning to focus on my family. For years I have worked myself to a frazzle to get everything holiday perfect. I am throwing that idea out the door and just plan to soak up my loved ones! 🙂
