Webster’s Needs To Update Their Definition Of The Word {Generous}

“Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.” ~ Kahlil Gibran

For 33 years I witnessed ONE woman display a WORLD of generosity.

I hope everyone she encountered over these 33 years appreciated her as much as I did.

{Diana “Di” Boates, second from the left, next to her husband, Roger}

“What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.” ~ Albert Pike

For 33 years I watched this woman give, give, give.

“Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.” ~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

What I would do to give her one last hug and thank her {again} for 33 years of love, kindness and generosity in my life…

Di, it’s {YOUR} turn to be taken care of.

We will miss you, your humor and that laugh of yours.

Rest in peace…..Lord knows you deserve it!

  1. Amy, You are blessed to have known an angel like your friend, Di. May you, your friends and family find comfort knowing that she is brghtening up Heaven right now.
    Love, Lisa

  2. I agree, she was one of the most selfless people I have ever known. She would be honored by the beautiful tribute that Amy and Kathy have put together here and–being Di–would probably have said she didn’t deserve it. Oh, but she does. Now, it’s your turn, Di, you’re about to reap all that you have sown on this earth for all those years.

    The title of the previous post is a fitting introdution to this one: Di-orama.

  3. Thank you, Lisa and Ray, for acknowledging Di’s greatness–a true soldier who never left the scene of a battle, was first to tenderly care for the wounded, and who cheered on each person’s victories! She deserves the sweetest rest!

  4. Di, I will always remember the “fun” times we had together, laughing, eating Mexican food, celebrating birthdays and just the wonderful person you were ! You made your friends and family feel so loved and you did so much for each and every one of us . You truly will be missed but your spirit will remain with us always .

  5. I was one of the lucky ones to know Di too, she gave so much to me over the last 30 years. thanks for this tribute. Thanks from the Banka’s!

  6. Thank you for this. Lady Di taught me and gave me more than I can recount. She is in our hearts and in our daily doings. Bless her gracious, kind, generous spirit.
