Today, while trying to see what I could find with a $14 and change store credit at Ross, I stumbled upon these:

Even though Holden has taken his first steps years ago, I still thought these would be perfect for summer. I seriously could not remember what size he wore, but for $6.49!, if they didn’t fit, I could totally gift them.
But, sorry friends with young boys, they were a bit big still and will be perfect for the summer months.
I love them and they look adorable on him. They’re eco-friendly, too!
OK, so I’m not doing too well at staying out of Ross, but isn’t today’s sunrise gorge?

I’m trying to focus on having more quality, classic pieces in my wardrobe rather than a bunch of cheap separates. However, I don’t want to spend a ton on the classics. I found some MK jeans for $9.99 {MSRP $79.50} at Ross this afternoon and picked them up with a gift card I got from my Pops for Christmas.

Then my BIL {bro-in-law} was so sweet to get me these beauties for Christmas:
The sleigh pulled out of the garage this morning and dropped Elliott at school in the valet line. She looked so grown up walking herself onto campus in her ruffled skirt, tights, boots, Mickey Mouse Santa hat and backpack hoisted up on one shoulder.
My little elf is growing up.
My other little elf and I did a {fly-thru} at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for a Peppermint Vanilla Ice Blended {my first, and hopefully last, of the season}. Jay was kind enough to pass along a CBTL giftcard to yours truly. Thanks, Babe!
We had several errands to do this morning before Gramma gets here and another busy weekend gets underway.
Quick run through at Dollar Tree where the mad scramble for stocking stuffers took place. Santa had not picked up anything as of yet! Goodies were hidden under large packages of tissue paper ~ it’s hard shopping with elves in tow! I diverted his attention while loading everything onto the check stand and told the woman to be on the down low.
Then we ran into TJ Maxx to grab a few finds I spotted yesterday, but passed on. {Jay received a AMEX gift card last night at his department Christmas party and guess who he gave it to? Again, thanks Babe!} I quickly shot through the doors to find my treasures STILL there….that never happens!
I picked up a gorgeous pair of Talbot’s black trousers for $16.99! {Reg. $119.00} I desperately needed a classic pair of black slacks. Dry clean only, but who cares for $16.99. Yay!
The sleigh then headed for the Post Office to get several overseas Christmas cards off as well as a couple packages {one that is WAY overdue to a cute little guy in PA who was born in June! Sorry Baby Bryce! ;-( }
I then scored a couple more stocking stuffers in the form of 75% off Hallmark ornaments. A “5” with a little bear drinking hot cocoa for Elliott and a little bear with a cape and a “3” on his chest for Holdy! I’m not normally a Hallmark ornament collector, but for $2.50, I’ll take ’em!

How many times have you rummaged around in your purse to find a scrap of paper and a pen to jot down your info? These are MUCH cuter and fit nicely in your wallet. I sent one to school with Elliott today…she has a little classmate that she wants to arrange a playdate with ~ she said “Mommy, don’t forget to give me one of your cards!” So fun.
After yesterday’s post I thought I’d better spring into action.
I stayed up until the wee hours making a batch of Puppy Chow for Elliott to share with her class this morning and also addressed {most} of the 120 envelopes for our Christmas cards. The printer has been acting up so I’ve had to print the letter in random quantities here and there which has not been fun…but today when I dropped 75% of the cards at the post office, I had to get out and take them inside. The drive-by mailbox was covered in yellow crime scene tape and there were two postal workers “surveying” the damage??!!?? Interesting.
I made total use of my 2.5 hours sans 3.75 year old. I am always amazed at just how much one can get done flying solo!

Old Navy is having their “Jingle Jammies” and I got the kids their annual Christmas jams for $8!
Last year I got there too late and wasn’t pleased with the selection, but this year I LOVE what I found:

I am sad because this is the last year that Elliott will fit into the Gap/Old Navy 2-piece jammy sets.

So get over to your ON store and get some cheap jammies for the kiddos to wear to bed on Christmas Eve! $8 is an awesome price for these and they wash well and last all year.

For the past couple years I’ve met up with some hardcore “Black Friday” alumni and stood in line waiting outside Target waaaaaay too early. I’m usually the designated “cart watcher” or the “fetcher” as my girls are armed with ads marked with sharpie circles, names and quantities needed. Dog-eared pages on more than one flier…it’s fun and I DO enjoy it, but I am always just along for the ride and may purchase a {too cheap to pass up} DVD here or some stocking stuffers there.
But this year….
I just could NOT get myself to get up before 4am, throw on some clothes and hit the road to the nearest Target or Wal-mart!
We spent yesterday with some unconventional Thanksgiving Day friends which I will post about later, but I was beat and not prepared to dodge parties diving and pushing for $199 flat screens this year.
Sorry, Ladies.

Elliott and I had a little TJ Maxx date this morning while Holden was in school.
I was on the hunt for something for Jay’s Holiday Party.
I found a gorgeous, fully-lined black & silver houndstooth belted pencil skirt for $10.00…
I envisioned wearing it with tights and possibly some low boots ~ a look that was completely opposite of what I originally had in mind, but all of a sudden excited about ~ more of a classic look this year.

I scored the sisal steal of the century yesterday.

I think I spent more than that {like $80, still a steal} at Home Goods for our much smaller one that we’ve had for going on 4 years. These rugs are great for homes with kids and pets. They hide dirt well and massage your feet at the same time!

Training update:
I did {for all intents and purposes} 9 miles this morning. Up at 5:45am {to charge my ipod} and out the door by 6:30! This will be my final long run before the race on December 5th. I will do some shorter runs {3-4 miles} next weekend and some elliptical the week before the run and then……showtime!
Each week I get a little more confident. My friend, Janet, who just completed her first FULL marathon {rockstar status!} introduced me to a term that I thought was hilarious ~ “wogging”: [verb] Not walking, but certainly not jogging!
I’m definitely a “wogger” instead of a runner. So, I guess you could say I’m a wogger AND a blogger!
